Dirty Dike – Sucking On Prawns In The Moonlight LP (2015)

Image
On early August, the best UK hip hop label these years, High Focus , dropped the new Dirty Dike's single ''I Ain't Got A Clue'' , and at first I was a bit confused by the change of sound compared to his previous records. But after a few listens, I was totally hooked. The production by Joe Corfield goes so hard you can't do shit but head banging to the beat, especially in the middle of the second verse where a little mind blowing melody appears, so fucking intense it's driving me nuts every time. I think I listened to the song on repeat for two weeks. Finally, I ended up knowing all the lyrics, all the fine details in the instrumental. Total ripper. Dike is spitting his rhymes furiously, mixing serious topics with dark and tasteless humor the way he's so good at. Starting right on with ''I'm about to phone your mum a cab / Sober up your slag, don't open up your flange / Here, smoke a bunch of skag / Only joking, I'm your da...

Mole People

THERE’S NO MORE SEAT IN THE TRAIN TO DESPAIR  There are so many mysteries in this world. So much urban legends, some are real, some are fake. Alligators in the sewer? Yeah, this one's true, an article from the New York Times dated from the 10 February 1935 reported that « several teenage boys were clearing East 123d Street by shoveling snow into an open manhole when they saw something large and alive in the water below».  It turned out to be a two meters plus alligator crawling in the sewer. Numbers of stories like this one are real but the city got rid of them quite quickly. This is rare but it happens. As you may know, I've always been fascinated with underground culture, and the real subject I’m going to talk about IS fucking underground. What the most underground thing you know? What could perfectly represent the underground? Well, sewers my man. Intriguing, dark, scary and weird. Everything can happen and y'all have heard some strange stories about sewers, tun...

Read part 2 Scans from Neons #2 Click on the pics to enlarge Or scroll down to read the written interview This is the first part of the interview, mostly focused on Thailand. For those who don't already know who Stephen Bessac is, let just say he's a french scumbag who doesn't care about you or anyone. He stands alone. Living his life his own way, without being held accountable to someone for his behavior. He was also the singer of the furious hardcore band Kickback , famous for their violent, unpredictable live shows. But that won't be the subject here. It has already be discussed over and over, with a lot of ridiculous (or not) rumors. Stephen, sick of Paris, and France in general, said one day ''fuck it!'' and left everything behind without saying goodbye, direction Bangkok... Since when do you live in Thailand? What are the reasons that made you leave France? I have been living in Bangkok for almost five years now. I ...

Full Force Frank - Interview (2012)

Image
Back in the late 80s and early 90s, Full Force Frank made some noise in the underground scene with his notorious murder-obsessed xeroxed fanzines called  Singin’ Dose Anti Psychotic Blues  and  Livin’ In A Powder Keg And Givin’ Off Sparks . Adam Parfrey, owner of Feral House publishing, even decided to interview him for the second edition of his cult book  Apocalypse Culture . « Frank, talk from a psychopath ». An insane man expressing his obsession towards violence, particularly mass murders, and women’s feet. At the time, a copy of his fanzine could even be traded against a pair of used women’s heels. There had been much speculations over his identity throughout the years, who can be hiding behind this mysterious figure? We don’t know much about him. According to Parfrey, Frank is a Brooklyn loner psycho, who was mentally, physically and sexually abused as a child. He grew up with a mind filled with anger and hate, not capable of any emotion....
